LOVE ALL everything i'm loving this week🎾❤️ week 6

Updated: Oct 31, 2021

I've had a few really busy weeks filled with travel and tennis! I'm a little behind on this, but I've been compiling a list of all the great things I've come across lately. Put down your racquet, grab a ☕️ and enjoy!

READY TO MAKE TRAVEL PLANS?

If you have a big birthday coming up, or had the misfortune to have a millstone birthday in 2020, now's the time to make up for it by a destination birthday celebration! Great cities in Belize, Cuba, and Portugal all made the list.

We treated our teenage kids and a handful of their friends to a week in Big Bear Lake, California after they finished the nightmare 2020 school year. We had the most incredible time! Spotty reception forced us to put our phones down and truly disconnect and enjoy natures beauty. We went fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, and boating and the kids still talk about how much fun they had. Although it may be getting quite cold to visit some of these lakes, we're looking forward to planning our next lakeside family trip! These beautiful lakes are spread across the country, so there's bound to be one close to you!

The WTA finals will be hosted in the vibrant city of Guadalajara, Mexico November 10 - November 17, 2021. I've never been to Guadalajara and would love to visit. This list is filled with great experiences like horseback riding and tequila tasting, parks and gardens to visit, and hiking trails.

Ever since I saw Dominic play in the French Open, I've been such a huge fan. Turns out he loves exploring the cities he visits on the tour! He's just like us!

Any list that includes "coffee rules," and "more eating and drinking" sounds like something I can get behind.

LISTEN UP - this weeks best podcasts

Hosted by Mitch Michals, this is one of my favorite tennis podcasts.

Armchair Expert is hosted by actor Dax Shepard and they have some really amazing guests. This interview with Swedish born actress Alicia Vikander was a really great listen. She talked about a film she just finished called Blue Bayou. I was so inspired by the interview, I went to see the film. It's based in Louisiana and brings attention to loopholes in the adoption system that has forced so many adults, who were adopted as children, to face deportation. Heavy stuff, but Alicia is so beautiful and such a great actress. The real star is the little girl who plays her daughter in the film, adorable.

WATCH

In the past year, we've cancelled travel to Spain, and Ireland. I'm always on the lookout for a series that will satisfy my craving for Europe, and this series truly delivers. Cairo, Zermatt, Mallorca, London, and Madrid are all featured in the series, and Taylor Swifts ex love interest Tom Hiddleston is lovely. I get it Taylor, I get it.

I have one episode left to watch in this super funny series. It seems like an odd pairing, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short, but it works, and I love it!

I hope you're enjoying fall wherever you are! October is truly one of the most amazing months of the year! Keep an eye out for the tennis lovers guide to my former home, and one of my absolute favorite cities, San Diego!

XO,

Val
